Ninja Tag

Our last assignment was to make prints. Prints are the same image printed over and over again. These are ones done by hand using a easy-cut surface. Prints are made when you put ink over a surface and press it against a paper to transfer the ink. The way we did this is we carved into the easy-cut (its made of like eraserish-plastic stuff that's easy to carve into with a tool) whatever we wanted to show through (for example, i wanted the yellow paper to show through where the white of the eyes were, so I carved the eyes out) and then inked the surface, pressing it down onto multiple surfaces. After that we carved more out of the board, whatever parts we wanted to show through as our second color (for example I wanted the pink gradient to show through for the face's skin, so I carved out the face). We carved the faces around 4 times to meet the requirement of 3 different colors. I named my print ninja tag because its a picture of a ninja assassin and it looks like a tag someone would spray paint onto a wall. We put these prints on multiple surfaces. (sorry bad quality pictures)

My Baby

My baby, the bust we created in Art 3. Spent so much time and put so much effort into it. Love how it turned out though there are a few things I would change if I could go back. We started out with a clay slap draped over a brick to make the shoulders and clay coils for the head. We then added human-like features and the features of our own personal character. My character is a split face- part human and part android. The character herself is a android with a human disguise on, but half the disguise was either burned off or ripped off to expose the android inside. Why the butterflies and newspaper? Cause I like butterflies and newspaper. But I love this piece of artwork and I'm very happy with it, even if it is creepy.

Art Spark

Art Spark is a chalk fest where we draw on the road with chalk. My partner's name is Layne and our entry was based off the image below that I made in photoshop that was inspired by her original drawing of our concept.

Resolution studio Entry/photo filter

So there's a photo contest where what we do is take 3 pictures that correlate with a theme. This year's theme was social issues. My social issue was personal appearances and my contest entry is here on their web page:

A follow up assignment was to put one of our pictures through a photo-filter in photoshop. I actually ended up like the photo-filtered one better than the original photo:

Figure Painting

For this assignment we drew our classmates with sharpie on the paper and then painted over with watercolors. I really enjoyed this assignment, its a bit more whimsical than the others we've done because of the freedom with the colors and lines.

Self Portrait

So this was our self portrait assignment. This is a textured finger painting with unreal colors of my face. This was a particularly difficult assignment for me, I got very frustrated with it multiple times. Part of the project was to use a medium, which tints the colors underneath it with whatever color you mix with your medium. The thing is, I had a awesome skin color going on but ended up tinting it yellow because we were supposed to change the colors up. Lets just say the yellow looked really busy with the purple hair and I ended up repainting it. However I didn't learn my lesson because to try to enhance the picture I added a purple tint to parts of the face. Completely hated it, painted over the face AGAIN. But then a classmate convinced me to try the purple tint again...painted over face again. So this assignment was a pain in the butt...but at least the finger painting part was fun!

Scratch Board

So this assignment was to make a image out of scratch board. White is pretty much a board made of layers of ink and when you scratch into it the ink is removed to make a image. I did mine into a picture of Swarovski crystals. The second part of the assignment is to color it in photoshop, colored version showed in the picture below (sorry for the shiny part, this is a picture of the printed out copy):
